Uniilever, Courteville, Law Union, 2 others lead Top Gainers on Monday

Unilever plc, Law Union Insurance, Chams Plc, and International Breweries Plc led the gainers’ chart in the stock market on Monday.

However, the stock market traded in negative territory as the All share index dipped by 0.04% to close at 26,990.59 index points and the market capitalization maintained its N13 trillion mark as it closed at N13.03 trillion.

Top gainers

Unilever Nigeria Plc led the gainers chart today having gained 9.94% to close at N17.7 followed by Law Union Insurance, which gained 9.23% to close at N0.71. Champs Plc gained 8.57% to close at N0.38 as Courteville increased by 8.33% to close at N0.26 while International Brew plc rounded off the list with 6.38% gain to close at N10.

Top losers

On the flip side, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc led the losers list as it shed 9.09% to close at N0.2 followed by UACN Plc, which declined by 8.75% to close on the bourse at N7.3. Unity bank Plc lost 8.45% to close at N0.65, Cornerstone Insurance lost 7.59% to close at N0.73 while FCMB declined by 5.47% to close at N1.9.

Top trades by volume

FCMB was the most actively traded stock on the bourse today despite shedding 5.47% of its share value, traded in 97.8 million shares valued at N186.02 million across 166 deals. Zenith bank Plc also with active trades as it recorded 388 deals to trade in 21.78 million shares valued at N406.8 million.

First bank Holdings traded in 15.19 million shares at N102.8 million across 191 deals. Nigerian breweries traded in 12.05 million shares at N614.9 million across 75 deals while UBA rounded off the list with trades in 11.97 million shares at N84.15 million spread across 185 deals.
