Ejikeme assumes duty as Executive Secretary of PTAD

Dr Chioma Ejikeme has succeeded Sharon Ikeazor, the Minister of State for Environment as the Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD). 

Ikeazor officially handed over to Ejikeme at the headquarters of PTAD in Abuja.  

In a statement made available to newsmen, Ikeazor applauded the PTAD employees while urging them to be better and to cooperate with the new executive secretary for the upliftment of the directorate. 

Ejikeme’s profile: Ejikeme whose appointment was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari in August to take over from Sharon Ikeazor when she was appointed minister, is a Medical Practitioner, an Administrator and an Entrepreneur.

Dr Chioma Nnenna Ejikeme started her Primary School education at the All Saints School, Enugu in 1964. She attended Queens School, Enugu from 1971-1975 for her secondary education. In 1976, Dr Ejikeme was admitted into the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where she obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in 1982. She also holds a Masters degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Lagos, 2002. 

As a successful medical officer at the Nigerian Airforce Medical services, she took a leave of absence and was appointed as Commissioner for Health in Anambra State. 

After her tenure as Commissioner for Heath, Dr Ejikeme returned to the Ministry of Defence in June of 1999 from where she voluntarily retired from the Civil Service in 2004. 

Until her appointment, Dr Ejikeme ran a Medium-scale manufacturing company, Karen-Happuck Nigeria Limited that has been in operation for 15 years. As the founder and Chief Executive of the company, she has successfully built strong brands and been a mentor to up and coming entrepreneurs. For 15 years, Karen-Happuck provided employment opportunities for Nigerians and imparted skills to a lot of unskilled workers through training on the job.
