International Energy Insurance Plc has paid a sum of paying $1.3million (N258,570, 000.00) to one of its major clients Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (Sapele Power Plant).
The interim management of the underwriting firm said it is part of the company’s commitment to keep its promise of prompt claims payment to its clients whenever the need arise.
The Board in a statement explained that the claim is to indemnify the loss from high tunnel load temperature defects with both units GTI and GT2, particularly in respect of the generator circuit breaker for these units. It is a co-insurance business that IEI leads. McLaren and Rimcus Consulting Limited were involved to adjust the claim on behalf of the co-insurers with the local adjuster (Grand Metropolitan Associates Limited).
“The prompt payment of the claim is to attest the fact that company puts priority in fulfilling its obligations to customers.
“The move epitomizes the company’s core business values, proficiency, integrity, innovation, dependability and friendliness adding that IEI earns every single trust it enjoys from its customers.”
Speaking on the need for the claim, Managing Director of the company, Mr. Peter Irene, emphasised that today’s business is run by good corporate governance, transparency and doing what you say, these are the values that will earn lasting customer trust and loyalty.”
