I don’t know what to make of this but Businessday reports the Ogun State Government seems to be considering setting up a Minsitry of Petroleum Resources or an appointment of a Special Adviser. The decision to do this will depend on if the technical reports obtained from the first state geological summit held in Abeokuta, at the week, favours the creation of such ministry.
Why set up the ministry? Well, they want to set up a ministry because they believe the state has “prospects” for petroleum and hydrocarbon deposits. They also believe that if the reports holds sway then that might just help increase their IGR.
