The House of Representatives, on Thursday, resolved to invite Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika within the next 48 hours over the recent sack of some Nigerian workers by Virgin Atlantic Airlines.
The representatives, while condemning the sack, said it was carried out “in a discriminatory manner” where only Nigerians were affected by the action.
The decision was taken after a motion by House Leader Femi Gbajabiamila was adopted.
Virgin Atlantic Airline recently layed off its Nigerian workers among whom were 20 air-hostesses. The airline had in 2014 closed its Nigerian call centre and laid off all the Nigerian staff working in that unit.
