Senator Suleiman Adokwe, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of being too arrogant over his refusal to accent to the 2016 appropriation bill.
The Senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District at the National Assembly made this statement earlier this week in Agwatashi, Nasarawa State.
Adokwe also touched on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation act, he said the NNPC condones so much corruption in the system.
According to the lawmaker, with the present act guiding the NNPC, there can be no proper account for oil revenues saying over the years, there has been differences between quantity of crude oil sold and the amount remitted.
Here’s what Senator Adokwe said about President Buhari and the budget:
“The President is too arrogant, we gave him the appropriation bill and he refused to sign it into law but there is no problem, if he refuses to sign it into law we can veto it and the highest he can do is not to implement it which will throw us into another constitutional crisis because we will say he is breaching a law that has been passed.
He also had this to say about the NNPC:
Series of successive executive governments have falsely promised Nigerians that they would revamp the refineries but ended up making it a dream.
Senator Adokwe also defended the SUV jeep bought by the senate for senators, he believes the matter should not be a controversial one.
He explained that, the president drives exotic cars and flies presidential jets all over the world at the expense of the poor masses and did not see it as wrong.
