- Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc, on Friday announced plans to increase its gas production to 500 million Standard Cubic Feet (SCF) per day by 2017 from its current production of 300 million SCF of gas per day.
- Mr Austin Avuru, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview in Lagos that the company would meet the targeted production after completing the ongoing second phase of its gas project.
He said; “The second phase of our gas project will increase our production capacity to an additional 225 million (SCF) of gas per day to the one we are producing now”. “We as a company think domestic energy security is critical for this country and future gas development is achievable in the next five years.”
- He added that the company was currently processing about 300 million SCF per day which made it able to supply about 250 million SCF to domestic market.
