The National Bureau of Statistics has released its final IGR report for the year ended December 2014. The report shows a total of N 707,857,998,395.47 was generated internally by states across the federation and is up 7% from the N662,045,725,237.28 generated in 2013.
This was also the slowest IGR growth recorded in the last 5 years and the first time we recorded single digit growth rate. Nevertheless, IGR is still 76% higher than the N401 billion generated in 2010. Nigerian States have now generated a total of N2.48 trillion in the last 5 years.
Lagos State led the IGR table with a total of N1 trillion and with Rivers State contributed about 50% of the total revenue generated by the States. Borno, Zamfara and Ekiti States reported the least total amount of IGR in the last five years with N11.7b, N12.5b, N13.6b generated respectively. Lagos State Generated N275 billion in 2014 and 39% of the total.

2014 Stats shows Lagos State generated about N153,608,849,584.33 from Personal Income Taxes. It also generated N9,392,939,866.44, N4,577,146,136.00, N108,585,043,089.18 Direct Assessments, Road Taxes , Other Revenue respectively.
