What others say about : NIGERIA: Daily Parallel Market Exchange Rate (Feb 27, 2017)..

anodebenze

Mon Dieu,i cannot believe any Nigerian govt will says things this way.this is the best govt economic policy for 30 yrs, according to the vice-president,the two minister for commerce and trade, the other being the minister for labour and productivity.
For most Nigerian, the govt planned to install business confidence, stop this firing of workers due to this recession, pursue economic growth, stablizes the economy, and hitting the nail on the head,i.e stop this stagnation of the economy.
They plan to raid the pension idle pension fund.stimulate the economy a little through Keynesian monetary push, bring back this lagos to calabar railway through the ministry of finance incorporation.it’s possible for the economy can and will grow still this year,by next some of govt economic plan well been partly realized by march 2017,this will help the govt have a deep insight.i.e see something new or see things through another perception,so will be for Nigerian investor, and they will make further reform to make the economy competitive
By raiding the pension fund, govt is telling investor,we are taking control of the economy,as govt is showing proper leadership, some investor or enterprenuer will start business or invest in the money market,i.e asset fund management, mutual fund, with this the naira will become competitive, all this excess liquidity will move or be warehoused into stock market, bank deposit, money market instrument and securities.
Now cbn using bank interest rate will work now,as the govt is eliminating this fear and uncerainity, that is facing Nigerian economy,so if govt does want to implement unemployment benefit in the next 2 yrs,an unemployed Nigerian will have hope, that govt meant good, that we want togive Nigerians self-employment to about 5 millions nigerian before the next general election,i am saying if the govt implement this graduate enterprenuer successful, this gradute can employs a minimum a staff of 3 people,if this in sales, willgenerate national comsumption.

voodoo economics propounded by kemi the bookkeeper turned finance economics have destroyed what is left of nigerian economy. A lesson for all nigerians that tribalism does not pay and hardwork is the only way to better living. Oduduwa have finally got nigerians with their change mantra that have seen naira heaped as waste and life in nigeria going under gradually each day

Ayodele Sofola

Many great nations have propelled their economies in times of hardship and recession. America became great again after the great depression. china also turned its economy around after their troubles in the late seventies and early eighties. Singapore was also not left out.
One common denominator in all of the these is good visionary leaders with the right political will to carry out structural reforms.
My fear for this government is the process by which they have come into power and wondering if they have the right political will to carry out this reforms.
Nigerians need to energies themselves and wrestle the ballot box away from the Elite in their society making every vote counts, and making leaders pay for bad decision.
Am afraid we have about ten years of paying attention to the ballot box and the process of electioneering.
A good example of this is the UK where it took just few weeks fro a prime minister to resign after the people spoke.
Like the words of Obafemi Awolowo ” the price the people will pay for letting fools rule over them is the eventual collapse of their nation”

Bystander

This talk is very impressive but unrealistic. This is like saying the third candidate in the US presidential election stands a chance – and their nation is not collapsing. So the question is what do we have? We have a ruling party and one very good opposition, whether you like it or not that is going to be the case for a few good more years. Next question, what are you doing with what you have? It saddens me that people are so concerned about 2019 that it seems that they have forgotten we are still in 2016. How about trying to make things work, putting your ideas out there, constructively opposing other ideas and just may be before 2019 Nigeria would have risen again because of you inputs.

What reform is the government carrying out? Drawing on the pension funds and beleiving that Oil will rebound to apply for repayment? That is a big joker.
Following from recent OPEC decision to cut supply, it rebounded by about $2 more, howbeit, that is temporary, as the market will be flooded from 2017 with new entrants desirous of pulling their economies into vibrant performance.
Unfortunately, the present Nigeria leadership team has no plan, policy in place to reform with except by propaganda.
Today, we have found commercial quantity of Nikel that will remove Nigeria from dependence on Oil, the blind followers celebrate and two days after, those touted to be in the know say it is not through.
Simple question, if we are going Agric, how long will earnings from Agric, Oil and others (local and foreign) translate to strong financial environment to guarantee low interest rates and make investible funds available to enterpreneurs? Kemi nor know or does she have such documents.
We keep hearing Osinbajo the Lawyer churn out philosophical talks on regular basis, instead of concrete blueprint.
No Country prosper through philosophy.

Isaac Ajayi

I would enjoin you all to go read “STATE OF THE NATION”
Every Nigeria is infested with corruption one way or the other. From top to the bottom, rich and poor.
You CANNOT EAT YOUR CAKE AND HAVE IT
Nigeria is not in any state of recession. Need to see how much the law makers (So callled) are carting away into their pockets every minute

A SENATOR Pockets – 30 MILLION NAIRA every month as salary and allowances. NOT INTERESTED IN MAKING ANY LAW THAT COULD RESTRUCTURE NIGERIA ECONOMICALLY

IT COSTS 290 MILLION NAIRA ANNUALLY TO MAINTAIN EACH MEMBER OF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, in a country where NOTHING WORKS AND 80% OF POPULATION EARN BELOW 300 NAIRA A DAY.

EVERYBODY SHOULD SAY NOOOOOO TO THESE LOOTING OF NIGERIA. ITS SAD

Ayodele Sofola

spot on the ball Isaac. its will be like telling turkeys to vote for christmas. its not going to happen, hence my reason for advocating wrestling the ballot box from the elite and career politicians.
can you imagine in a western democracy for a member of parliament to make such revelation like the ones made by Jibrin in relation to budget paddins, and all principal member of the house still in position.
Lets go back to the drawing board and start a process of political education and reorientate our people’s mind.
Its going to be a long and painstaking process, so the earlier we begin the better, cos its going to be a long marathon.

Anodebenze

we shall see.why is all govt previous and present administration is shy away of making everybody pays some form of tax.i.e the poor and the riches knows, that everybody is equal before the law and the land.morality is a personal issue.my fellow Nigeria as an advice should read Animal farm, that is the problem facing Nigeria now.some claim they have more right in Nigeria, just because they are in position
