Mr. Nikolaos Giannousas, general manager Leventis motors says the company will no longer distribute JCB construction equipment in Nigeria. He stated this at an event in Lagos recently. Here are key highlights of the firm’s decision:
- Leventis will continue to offer service and after sales support on JCB equipment already sold to customers.
- Leventis has signed a deal with Lovol Heavy Industries Construction Limited to distribute Lovo construction equipment.
- Lovo’s sales manager for Africa, Mr Andy Liu said the search for a distributor in Africa had been on since 2014.
- He also stated that Lovol is one of the fastest growing brands in the construction industry and has partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers from Germany and Italy.
Leventis motors was founded in 1952 and is a subsidiary of the AG Leventis group. The company which has a workforce of about 900 people, also distributes Volkswagen and Foton trucks. Lovol Heavy Industries Ltd was founded in 1998 and its operations range from manufacture of construction and agricultural equipment to financial services. The company had a turnover of 21 billion RMB (yuan) in 2014. JCB, founded in 1945 by Joseph Cyril Bramford is the world’s third largest equipment manufacturer.
