Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State has constituted a Transition and Steering Committees in Lokoja, capital of the state to enable the smooth transition of government from the present ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the incoming All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Wada, these committees are expected to liaise with their counterpart – committees from the APC, and would eventually draw out programs for the incoming government.
Deputy Governor and chairman of the transition committee, Yomi Awoniyi,, assured the Governor that the committees would ensure that all the ministries and parastatals give their assignment the appropriate attention.
Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kogi State governorship election was declared the winner of the election.
Bello, was substitute to late Abubakar Audu, defeated the incumbent Governor, Captain Idris Wada, of the Peoples Democratic Party who was seeking a second term in office.
The outgoing administration will hand over power to the incoming on January 27, 2016.
