Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dr. Kayode Fayemi on Friday, announced that Nigeria is set to release a guidebook which will provide “far-reaching views and opinions” toward developing and growing the industry and economy through solid minerals.
He said the road-map would enable the country to be on the right path toward sustainable development of the mining and metal sector.
Fayemi pointed out that solid minerals is one key sector of the Nigerian economy in which the Federal and States governments must work closely to further attract investors.
He gave assured that when unveiled, the document will contain short-term action plan of 24 months, mid-term plan of 10 years and long-term plan of 25 years to improve the solid minerals industry.
“Investors want to make sure that the money invested into the sector is realized; this is one major risk which the road-map must address,” the official said, noting most investors were scared of putting their money in that sector.
