Facebook released its Q3 earnings beating the expectations of analysts which has led to a surge in its share price after the announcement.
Revenue:
The Q3 result showed Facebook reported a revenue of $4.3 billion, a 41% increase year-over-year.
Most of Facebook’s revenue came from Advertising, although it also earned $202 million from payments and other fees.
North America and Europe account for about 75% of Facebook’s revenue, while about 25% of Facebook’s revenue come from Asia Pacific and the rest of the world.
Costs and Expenses:
Facebook incurred costs and expenses of $3.04 billion, while it also spent $1.27 billion on Research and Development.
Monthly Active Users:
The report showed Facebook has a 1.55 billion monthly active users.
Video Views:
Facebook also said that it now has 8 billion views per day. That is double the number of views the company reported in April which was estimated at 4 million views per day.

Whatsapp:
900 million people on Whatsapp each month.
Instagram:
400 million people on Instagram each month, and 80 million photos are shared on Instagram everyday.
Messenger:
700 million people on messenger each month.
Employees:
Facebook now has 12,000 employees in total after adding 1,000 this quarter.
