Nairametrics| After an eight month break in production, Dangote Tomato Paste factory is to resume operations in February next month. The managing director of the company, Abdulkadir Kaita stated this Kano last week.
The company had stopped operations last year due to an outbreak of Tuta Absoluta which affected tomatoes farms in Kano, Katsina, Jigawa and Plateau states. This led to a massive drop in tomatoes available for processing, and a massive increase in the price of tomatoes. The factory at full capacity, can process 120 tonnes of fresh tomatoes per day.
